Dear Parents of St. Joseph Catholic School Students,

Hillmen Spirit-wear  Day for Oktoberfest
Friday, October 2, has been designated Hillmen Spirit-wear Day here at school.  In lieu of the time-consuming projects done by each class the past, we are asking students and teachers to donate $2.00 so they may wear Hillmen Spirit-wear clothing that day. Hillmen shirts and jeans which do not have holes are acceptable in place of the uniform. All money collected will be the school’s donation to the Parish Oktoberfest.  Teachers will collect money ahead of time with all monies due by Oct. 1.  If students choose not to wear spirit-wear and participate in this event, they are to wear their uniform on the 2nd and do not need to make a donation.
Extended Supervision
Extended supervision is available to students in grades K – 8 each day.  We open our doors as early as 6:30 AM and close them as late as 5:30 PM.  If you wish to enroll your child in this program, please call the school office (844-3781) for fee information. Students who are not picked up by 3:15 will be sent to extended care.

LUNCH, HOT LUNCH, AND MILK
Our school has a “closed campus” for lunch.  All pupils, from grades K-8 are to eat lunch in school.  Pupils may purchase milk or bring a thermos of milk or juice from home.  Carbonated beverages and glass bottles are not to be brought to school.  Please do not bring “fast food” to school for your child.  It presents many unforeseen problems that we wish not to deal with. Therefore, fast food, if brought, is eaten at the office.  Hot lunch is offered to students once a month.  Students who do not wish to participate should bring a regular lunch.  In the event a student has ordered and paid for Hot Lunch and is absent on Hot Lunch Day, the student will not receive a refund, but will receive credit toward the next scheduled Hot Lunch.

Iowa Tests
Just a reminder that next week is testing week for Grades 2 – 8.  Please help your child get a good night’s rest and eat a nutritious breakfast each morning.  This is their best preparation for the tests.
Magazine Sale
Please continue to sell magazines until the end of our sale on September 23
